BEFORE YOU BEGIN
A title ID, game update and port release are three different values. Renaming a directory does not change the game build it contains.
Title identification
What does CUSA01623 identify?
This title ID is a game identifier, not the launcher version, a download format or a performance preset. It identifies PS4 Remastered data; original PS3 game files use a different platform and cannot be substituted.
Sony’s US product listing contains UP9000-CUSA01623, while its Australian listing contains EP9000-CUSA01715. These are verified storefront examples, not a claim that either ID exists exclusively in one country. Read your own game metadata.
Three version fields
CUSA01623 is not a port version
Keep CUSA01623 separate from the game update number and the community runtime release. The documentation lists tested IDs and versions; it does not certify every file set bearing those labels.
| Field | Example | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Game title ID | CUSA01623 / CUSA01715 | Identifies the PS4 title build |
| Game update | 01.00 / 01.02 | Version of the prepared game data |
| Port release | 2.5.0 | Version of the launcher and runtime |
Folder structure
Recognize a CUSA01623 game directory
A prepared game folder should contain eboot.bin, sce_module and sce_sys at the selected level. The launcher needs actual game files, not a ZIP, a folder shortcut to an archive, or only the executable.
The example name below is descriptive. A directory called MyGame can still contain CUSA01623 data; a directory renamed to that ID can still contain the wrong game. Trust detected metadata over its label.
CUSA01623/
├── eboot.bin
├── sce_module/
└── sce_sys/Launcher recognition
Check CUSA01623 in the launcher
Use Game → Browse to select the folder containing eboot.bin. On Home, check the detected title ID, version and artwork. If you expect CUSA01623 but see different metadata, stop and inspect your source files.
When the expected title ID is not detected, check the directory level and missing files first. The release supports valid unpacked PS4 ELF input as well as SELF, but incomplete or unsupported input can still fail preparation. Keep that log.
Separate game updates
Match a CUSA01623 update to its base game
If your CUSA01623 update was dumped separately, select it through Game → Update folder. The launcher overlays the selected update without changing the source directories. Verify the displayed version afterward.
Do not mix a CUSA01715 update with CUSA01623 simply because the game name matches. A port upgrade does not install a PS4 game update, and changing a folder name does not convert one title ID into another.
Save boundaries
Preserve CUSA01623 saves correctly
The documented shadPS4 import requires the same title ID. For CUSA01623, the Windows destination is user/savedata/1/CUSA01623 beside the launcher, or the corresponding savedata path under a custom Saves folder.
Back up both locations before importing. Preserve slot names, avoid nesting another title-ID folder, and follow upstream metadata instructions. RPCS3 saves belong to the PS3 edition; their files are not a substitute for these PS4 saves.
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Game build IDs FAQ
Does CUSA01623 mean the game is version 01.02?
No. The identifier and update number are separate fields. Read the version reported by the launcher after selecting the base game and any separate update.
Can I convert CUSA01715 to CUSA01623 by renaming it?
No. Renaming changes only the directory label. It does not alter executable data, title metadata, update compatibility or save requirements.
Does this page provide CUSA01623 game files?
No. This is a build-identification guide. The upstream port package supplies the runtime and launcher; you provide your own compatible game data.
Why does my CUSA01623 setup still show a black screen?
A recognized title ID does not establish complete file integrity or GPU compatibility. Preserve the preparation and run logs, then follow symptom-specific diagnosis.
